Starting price or range?
A starting price can attract attention but often leaves the patient unsure whether their likely total is much higher. A range usually improves trust and qualified enquiries because it sets a realistic budget window.
Use starting from only where the service genuinely has a clear base package, as with conventional LASIK. Use a range when more than one normal configuration is common, as with FemtoLASIK and TransPRK.
What changes the total
The access method, laser platforms, disposable items, clinically useful custom measurements and follow-up structure can change cost. The prescription alone does not decide the price or method.
A clinic should not convert every measurement into a paid upgrade. Additional treatment planning should have a reason that can be explained in relation to the eye.
What a written quote should include
The quote should name the procedure and state both eyes, surgeon, assessment, consumables, scheduled reviews and medication policy. If enhancement or extra follow-up policies exist, they should be explained without vague guarantees.
Avoid comparing a bare surgery fee with an all-inclusive pathway. Ask each clinic the same checklist before deciding.
Why the assessment is deductible
The assessment costs EGP 1,500 because it includes real diagnostic work and surgeon interpretation. Deducting it fully from surgery removes double payment while preserving a proper decision step.
A patient who is not suitable has still received a medical assessment rather than a sales screening. That is why the examination should never be advertised as a guarantee of eligibility.
