01

The published FemtoLASIK range

The current Cairo LASIK range is EGP 22,000–28,000 for both eyes. Publishing a range is more informative than an unexplained starting price because it shows the likely decision window before examination.

The final figure depends on the planned treatment, clinically indicated measurements and the agreed package. A quote should state both eyes clearly.

02

What the assessment covers

The EGP 1,500 assessment includes refraction, corneal shape and thickness measurements, ocular-surface evaluation, clinical examination and wavefront data when relevant. It is fully deducted from laser surgery at Cairo LASIK.

The examination is not a booking formality. It can identify dry eye, irregular maps, insufficient tissue or another reason to change the method or avoid elective surgery.

03

Why FemtoLASIK costs more than conventional LASIK

FemtoLASIK uses a femtosecond laser to create the flap and an excimer laser to perform the refractive correction. Conventional LASIK creates the flap mechanically. The extra laser platform, consumables and workflow contribute to the price difference.

The higher price does not make FemtoLASIK suitable for every eye. A surface treatment or no surgery may be the better medical recommendation.

04

Possible additions to the quote

Wavefront-guided planning adds EGP 3,000–4,000 when the measurements show a clinical reason for it. It is not an automatic upgrade and should not be added only because it sounds premium.

Topography-guided Contoura and ICL prices are not published online. If either is relevant, the clinic provides an individual plan after examination.

05

How to compare clinics fairly

Compare the surgeon, exact procedure, platforms, eligibility testing, both-eye wording, postoperative visits, medicines and management of unexpected findings. Ask for a written total before paying a non-refundable amount.

The cheapest advertisement and the most expensive package can both be poor choices if the procedure does not fit the cornea. The first retention tool should be clarity, not an artificial discount countdown.
