International Eye-Surgery Patients in Cairo

Dr Mohamed Anis has performed many refractive and cataract procedures for patients who travelled from Gulf countries and the United States. Cairo LASIK helps international patients plan the clinical steps before booking travel, while keeping the final decision dependent on an in-person examination.

01

Before you travel

Send your age, glasses prescription, contact-lens history, relevant medical conditions and any recent corneal scans, biometry, OCT or previous surgery reports by WhatsApp. A remote review can identify missing information and help plan a visit, but it cannot confirm candidacy or replace examination in Cairo.

  • Current spectacle prescription and contact-lens details
  • Previous LASIK, cataract or retinal surgery reports
  • Corneal maps, OCT or biometry if already available
  • Medication list and important medical conditions
02

Assessment and treatment timing

The first visit is reserved for measurements and consultation. Surgery is scheduled only if the findings are suitable and the patient has had time to understand alternatives, risks and recovery. Some patients can complete assessment and treatment during one trip, while others need repeated measurements, ocular-surface treatment or a different plan.

03

How long should I stay in Cairo?

Many routine refractive-surgery patients plan at least three days in Cairo after treatment so that early follow-up can be completed. TransPRK, cataract surgery, lens surgery or an unexpected finding may require a longer stay. The clinic confirms a practical schedule after reviewing the intended procedure and your travel dates.

04

Reports, medication and follow-up at home

Patients receive the procedure details, prescribed-drop schedule, warning symptoms and planned review dates. When appropriate, the clinic can provide a summary for an ophthalmologist in the patient’s home country. Urgent pain, redness or reduced vision should be assessed locally without waiting for an online reply.

05

Care for Gulf and US-based patients

The consultation can be conducted in Arabic or English. The same clinical standards apply whether a patient lives in Egypt, a Gulf country or the United States: reliable measurements, an honest suitability decision, written expectations and access to postoperative advice. Travel convenience never overrides a finding that makes surgery unsuitable or requires more time.
