LASIK Cost in Egypt: How to Compare Clinics Without Choosing by Price Alone

Why LASIK prices vary

‘LASIK’ is often used as a broad advertising term, but conventional LASIK, FemtoLASIK, TransPRK and customized profiles do not use identical equipment or consumables. A price can also include or exclude corneal scans, surgeon assessment, medication and follow-up.

Two clinics can therefore advertise different figures for packages that are not comparable. The first question should be what procedure is being offered and why it is suitable for your eye.

What should be included in a quotation?

Ask whether the fee covers one or both eyes, preoperative refraction and corneal imaging, the surgeon’s examination, laser use and consumables, planned postoperative visits and routine early postoperative support.

Clarify whether any customized treatment carries a separate fee and what clinical measurement would justify it. ‘Custom’ should not be an unexplained upgrade added to every case.

Questions that matter more than a discount

Who examines the corneal maps? Who performs the procedure? Is the same surgeon responsible for follow-up? What happens if the scan is suspicious? Will the clinic recommend against surgery when the risk is unacceptable?

A clinic’s willingness to decline an unsuitable case is an important safety signal. Advanced technology is valuable, but it should support clinical judgment rather than replace it.

Why very low advertised prices need context

A low entry price may apply only to a particular procedure or limited prescription range, or may exclude scans and follow-up. This does not automatically mean the clinic is unsafe; it means the patient needs a complete written explanation before comparing options.

Avoid making a non-refundable commitment before candidacy is established. An eye should not be pushed toward the procedure that matches an advertisement if a different method—or no surgery—is medically preferable.

How Cairo LASIK handles fees

Cairo LASIK publishes realistic starting figures and ranges. Conventional LASIK starts at EGP 13,000 for both eyes, TransPRK is EGP 16,000–20,000 and FemtoLASIK is EGP 22,000–28,000. Wavefront-guided planning adds EGP 3,000–4,000 to the selected treatment when the measurements justify it.

The comprehensive refractive assessment costs EGP 1,500 and is fully deducted from surgery. It includes refraction, corneal imaging and thickness, ocular-surface assessment, wavefront testing when relevant and consultation with Dr Mohamed Anis. The final written quotation follows the medical recommendation.

Cataract, premium-lens and YAG fees

Cataract and lens-surgery prices are per eye. Monofocal cataract surgery is EGP 14,000–20,000, Eyhance is EGP 22,000, and EDOF or trifocal lenses are EGP 30,000–60,000 depending on brand. Refractive lens exchange is EGP 45,000–70,000 depending on the implanted lens.

YAG laser capsulotomy is EGP 2,000–3,000 per eye. These ranges are planning guidance; the written quotation identifies the lens model, facility and included follow-up. Procedures without a published fee are quoted individually after examination.
