The surgical theatre and TENEO

This photograph shows the dedicated surgical centre where Dr Mohamed Anis performs laser vision-correction procedures; it is not a treatment room inside Cairo LASIK Clinic. Consultations, diagnostic assessment and follow-up take place at the clinic in Heliopolis.

The procedure and platform are confirmed after examination, not from a photograph or equipment name alone.

01

What LASIK can correct

LASIK changes the focusing power of the cornea. The treatable range varies with the prescription, corneal measurements and the laser plan.

  • Myopia
  • Hyperopia in selected cases
  • Regular astigmatism
02

LASIK or FemtoLASIK?

Both use an excimer laser for the visual correction. The difference is mainly how the flap is made: conventional LASIK uses a mechanical microkeratome, while FemtoLASIK uses a femtosecond laser. At your assessment, the safest appropriate pathway is discussed—not simply the newest label.

03

Corneal thickness is only part of the decision

A thickness number alone is not enough. Corneal shape, posterior elevation, prescription, optical zone and the estimated remaining stromal tissue must be considered together.

04

Long-term expectations

Laser treatment changes the cornea but does not stop normal ageing of the eye. Presbyopia, cataract and later prescription change can still occur. The goal is to reduce dependence on glasses, not promise permanent perfect vision.

Start with the measurements

A complete assessment is the only reliable way to know whether LASIK is suitable.
