What makes treatment custom?
Wavefront or corneal topography measurements can add optical information beyond the ordinary glasses prescription. The treatment pattern is then selected to address the clinically relevant measurements.
‘Custom LASIK’ describes how the excimer treatment is planned; ‘FemtoLASIK’ describes how the flap is created. They are not competing procedures, and a patient may receive a customized treatment beneath a femtosecond-created flap.

Actual surgical theatreThis photograph shows the dedicated surgical centre where Dr Mohamed Anis performs laser vision-correction procedures; it is not a treatment room inside Cairo LASIK Clinic. Consultations, diagnostic assessment and follow-up take place at the clinic in Heliopolis.
The procedure and platform are confirmed after examination, not from a photograph or equipment name alone.

No. A customized profile should be used when the measurements and treatment goals support it. A standard optimized profile may be the more appropriate choice for another eye.
Wavefront testing can measure optical imperfections that ordinary sphere and cylinder do not describe. Custom treatment may be considered when these findings are meaningful, but it cannot guarantee freedom from glare or halos.
Treatment planning can draw on OCTAVIUS corneal imaging and Zyoptix HD wavefront data alongside refraction, pupil assessment and the clinical examination.
